I run a small/medium size business and want an online presence to promote my business in a professional manner to new customers and to provide a more professional image to existing customers. What do I need to achieve this?
You need a professionally developed website, a domain name, and hosting for your website. You also need the website to be uploaded onto your hosting account and promoted to the search engines.
I am just starting a new business, can you still help me?
Absolutely, we love helping people get started making money roll in the door!
Do you help people who still have a job but are looking to start a side business to make more money?
Yes, we love helping people who are trying to make more money.
Do you help people who still no longer have a job and are looking to make money with a new business?
Absolutely, we have worked on a large number of start up businesses and fully support people who are looking to start a new life using the internet.
I already have a website and I’m just looking for someone to maintain my site, can you do this for me?
Yes, we take new clients who’s websites are already built. We will have to “look under the hood” to make sure we understand what your old designer or company did before we move forward.
What is site maintenance?
Site maintenance is a fee paid monthly to keep your site updated with new content that you provide. Most good web sites have new content updated regularly. Fresh content is what will keep your visitors coming back. This is an optional service that we provide for our customers. If you want to maintain your website yourself you can do so.
How long does it take to build a website?
The time frame is determined by the size of your website, the complexity of your site design, and our current client design schedule. Small websites (1-3 pages) have been done in as little as 2-3 weeks. Medium size (3-10 pages) websites can take 3-6 weeks. Larger websites with more than 10 pages vary.
How much does a website cost?
There are quite a few factors that are going to affect the ultimate cost of your web site. These factors include how many pages you are going to have, if you will sell products on your website, the graphic work involved, and how interactive your future website will be. You will also need web hosting and domain name registration.
Our websites cost less because we use a different process than many other expensive web design companies.
Fill out the estimate form and we’ll supply you with a cost estimate for the work you are looking to do.
Why are your estimates so much less? I’m used to getting quotes for $6,000-$15,000 for a website…
Our process involves using several already made pieces of programming and many times, already made designs that we can adjust to fit your brand and business. This saves on time and money, big time.
I have a “friend of a friend” who said they would build me a site for cheap, why should I choose you?
7/10 of our customers come from bad experiences with their “friend of a friend”. What happens usually with your “friends” is the following: you give them money, they aren’t professional web designers in the field and don’t know how to handle work & life so life gets in the way or their full time work gets in the way. You wait months to hear from them, all the while you’ve given them your money. They have complete control of your website, business and life since they have all your info, including setting up your domain name, which you’ve been giving out to people already. You are frustrated and have given money you thought would be “well spent” on a “cheap website”. Additionally, many times the relationships go south and you are left where you started: with no website and a couple hundred dollars less in the bank, only you can add frustration to the mix.
Trust us, it’s in your best interest to hire a professional web design service and save yourself the pain and hassle of trying to work with someone who doesn’t know what they are doing.
Oops, I made the mistake of hiring an unprofessional web designer. I have a website now, but I can’t get in touch with my web designer and I’m feeling stuck, what should I do?
That happens a lot with your “friend that helped you out” and unprofessional designers. Tell us what’s going on we’ll try to help you find a solution that works best for all parties.
I’ve already given my “friend” some money to get started on a cheap website but I haven’t seen anything and the process is moving very slow, what should I do?
Run!! Get your money back and get a professional company do the work!
This might sound silly, but what do I put on my site?
That would depend on the goals of your web site. If you run a business website you would include as much information about your products or services that your customers would need to purchase from you.
Do you take credit cards? Do you have payment plans?
We do take credit cards: Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover. You can also pay with PayPal or E-Check. We do offer payment plans over 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Your website cost will be split over those months. A interest rate applies to payment plans. Please inquire about details regarding a payment plan that might work best for you.
Do you offer any type of discounts?
Yes, we offer discounts for schools and non profit organizations. Please provide us with your school or organization info and we will be happy to figure out an appropriate discount.
What is a domain name and how do I get one?
A domain name is a specific web site address that you choose and register with a hosting service. We recommend MyDomainMint.com. (the official registrar of domain names ending in .com, .edu, and .gov). Our domain name is “elleeye.com”.
What is a hosting account, why do I need one and how do I get one?
A hosting account is where the files for your website live. You have to pay for space on a computer at a hosting company and have a domain name in order for the website to be accessible from a browser. MyDomainMint.com has a great selection of hosting accounts. For small – Medium size websites, recommend the Linux Economy account.
I already have a domain name, but I don’t have a hosting account yet, what should I do?
We recommend MyDomainMint.com. They are reliable and cost effective service, available 24/7. Purchase a hosting plan with them. After purchasing, we can figure out the best way to have your website domain name talk to the hosting so that everything is in order.
Can you set up my domain and hosting account for me? How does that work?
We can work with you to get yourself up and running if you like. Let us know where you are at in the process and we can help you figure it out.
I’m interested in getting my website higher up in Google with SEO, how does that work?
We look at what your competition is doing, where they are landing in Google, what kinds of customers you are trying to get in the door. We then put together a very specialized set of meta tags and program them into your website. It can take several weeks for Google to pick up the work we have done.
I want the ability to update my website myself, is this possible?
Yes, we have several ways to create pages that you can update. We give simple, 1 page explanations on updating but we do not extensively train you on all the ins and outs, you must learn this on your own. We recommend Lynda.com’s Online Training for learning how it all works.
Will you set up my email?
Your hosting account is responsible for helping set up your email, but in the case of us setting up the site for you, we would be happy to help you set up your email account.
Why can’t I find my web site in the search engines?
Once your site has been submitted to the top Search Engines they may require several weeks, or even months to actually spider and list your web site in their directory. How fast your site is listed depends on each individual Search Engines database update schedule. Watch your server traffic logs for visiting spiders.
